A good beginner car. Will not handle out of the box though. You will need the aftermarket springs. Fast car with the smoothest drive train I've seen. Very fragile car though. Buy lots of a-arms cause they will strip out the pivot balls. Front one way is a must. Get the Yokomo one way. It is more durable than the AE one. Would of got a 5 but it is too fragile. The hex screws are absolutely crap. They strip even with good hex drivers.
I have had this car for about a year now. It is the best car for begginers, its handling is perfect and the top speed is awesome.
Pros:
-Powerful High-Performance Engine
-2-Speed Transmission Standard
-Slick Crowd Pleazer body and details
-Great looking tires and wheels
-Awesome Handling

The absolute favorite in my collection, I built the FT kit, and initally installed an AE .15 from an RC10GT. Nearly three years later, I still have tons of fun with it. I currently run an OS .12 TR Turbo 5 port(hands-down BEST bang for the buck!!!)which moves the car to 70 MPH with a 25T 2nd gear...and it gets there in 5-6 seconds!!! The obvious flaws are: fragile front bumper(get the RPM version), weak diff cases(run two 4-40 screws ALL THE WAY through the diff case, from the lower chassis plate, and secure them with locknuts above the shock tower), the use of machine thread hardware in plastic/composite material, and rear hub carriers that are very prone to breakage(GET THE VERSION 2 REAR SUSPENSION!!!). There are MANY good things to speak of as well: with F/R ball diffs, threaded shocks, droops screws, full camber/caster/toe adjustments, and many different gearing options, the NTC3 will handle however the driver chooses. If you have a heavy trigger finger, then loosen the diffs up a bit, if you want to put down ALL the power, tighten them up. Associated deserves a lot of credit as well, for delivering what was the first shaft-drive car of its kind, with a longitudinal engine, and a very efficient drivetrain, which is now copied by OFNA in the LD3(also a good car, but then again, it should be, based on its origin). I would give the car full marks if not for the few durability issues, and I would be a liar to say that it has always been an easy vehicle to drive/tune. It took some time at the track, and on the bench, to really unlock its potential, but I think that with practice, anyone can win with this vehicle.
