On March 05-07 2004, FRT hosted the EFRA Grand Prix of Greece for 1/8 scale on road gas. It was an important race for many national and international drivers, as in 2005 FRT will host the European Championship A, for the same class!
FRT is a brand new track 10km from downtown Athens, the Greek Capital. The new national airport (El. Venizelos) is 20 minutes from the track and the nearest beach is 20 minutes away. The place where the track is located is plenty of high level hotels, restaurants and camping facilities. The perfect place for racing and vacation!
FRT is the home track of the majority of races of the Modelling Union of our Country, with events such as the Greek National championship of 1/5 and 1/8 scale track classes. In addition, open club, local and factory championships are organised at the FRT Track. Our biggest event to date, was the organisation of the European Hpi Challenge, with the opening of the track last September.
Many of you have raced in European and Worlds races before and we are confident this years race, wich is the year of the Olympic Games held in Greece, will be as good as any other.
Everyone here at FRT took the opportunity and wished all drivers the best of luck and fun in Greece for the Grand Prix, and the visit in general. And if they enjoyed themselves, all we ask, is that they and many more come back for the European Championship A in 2005!
